I self published 2 books and 3 home made CD videos related to my profession. I am working on another video now. What has been the readers experiances in selling self published material over the internet or e-commerce like Amazon.com or eBay store etc???

My book is nonfiction and is probably considered a “how to” book. I need to come up with promotion and marketing ideas…things I’ll do to get the book “out there” when it is published. I have come up with a few obvious ones: facebook, myspace, twitter, personal e-mails, word-of-mouth, and some local appearances. What else is there that is relatively inexpensive? Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you!

I would like to freelance as a travel writer. I enjoy travelling, photography and writing and would love to be able to combine all of them.

I have a copy of the writers market with lists of magazine publishers in the UK. How do I approach the editors? Phone/Email…what should I say?
